No Fire on Either Cylinder 40 HP Force

Not too much to work with at this time, but here is what I know so far.

1995 Force 40 HP
Died while underway at 3500 RPM
No fire on either cylinder even with (Black/Yellow wire Kill circuit unplugged)
Found only two sets of wires on the stater (am I missing the other set somewhere)both of those sets ohmed OK

Got a manual and going to begin following testing requirements.
I did have to change the CD box several years back, but it was still firing on one cylinder not dead on both like it is now.

Any ideas from you guys?

you are going to need a peak reading adapter (DVA) and check the cranking output from the stater.
I don’t know what it should be, you are gonna have to find that on the internet.
I would disconnect the the rectifier regulator before doing anything else, and see if you get spark.
sometimes it will fail causing you to lose all spark.

Thank you Chris. Will Do this afternoon. I will keep you posted.

Hey Chris V how does the rectifier effect the spark in the ignition system. I guess I am asking what its role is.
Thanks

Ended up being a broken (White/Green) wire behind the CD box.

Just a heads up.

It does not have a role in the spark/ignition system, however, according to CDI troubleshooting guide, and personal experience, you should always test with the rectifier regulator disconnected.
I don’t know the physics or electrical engineering behind it, but I can say from personal experience, a bad rectifier can steal spark.
