Fished Little river offshore reef, General Sherman, the beach, the tideline out by the jetties at little river last week, last of June. Huge mennhaden 8 inches+, schools of them all over at about 1 to 2 miles off the beach. No bites. Charter captains were saying they are extinct on the radio.
I got a 28 pounder and a 9 pounder off of Ocean Isle yesterday. I fished Little River Monday and Tuesday, nothing but Spanish. I think they just showed up. Both were down deep and nailed the downrigger.
Depth?

40 feet of water, I had the bait down around 32.
