No luck all weekend

Hey guys, I’m new to charleston in january for school at musc but couldn’t wait to try and get on some redfish with the fly rod. Was actually lucky enough to catch my first one and my second one on the first time out back in April. Talk about beginners luck because I’ve only seen one fish since then on the same flat. I went wednesday, friday, saturday morning and tonight with no luck. Tried what seemed to be a pretty popular spot tonight, or should i say used and abused by the obvious foot traffic, that I found was mentioned in a post from a very very long time ago after going through the archives. Looked like a killer spot though. Anyone having some luck, just want to hear about people catching some fish.

was out friday evening for the flood tide. ran over a big one in a 18" of water with my kayak. a little later saw a tail peek through twice about 1/2", but i didn’t get my line out quick and didn’t see again.

Don’t feel bad, I only have about 2 years under my belt fishing in Charleston, I come down about twice a month from upstate. I do pretty well on the regular tides and have a few solid flood tide flats that also failed to produce for me this weekend as well. I do most of my fishing on and off side creeks of Wando, everything on Sunday and Monday was very muddy and couldn’t see crap, still trying to figure out where all the muddy water came from. This was my first flood tide of the year so I am hoping my spots produce as well as last year but I am off to a bad start.
