anyone have any luck today on the big tide?
Got out on the Stono last 2 hours of the falling. Drifted for flounder with no luck. Did boat 4 bonnet sharks so at least I didn’t get skunked.
A wise man once said “Do as I say not as I do” Good advice when I tell you that.
didnt see a single tailer today… i think we only spooked 2 total since the water clarity was low…tons of bait though… that water was steaming hot
They weren’t tailing hard, just cruising. Went 3 tosses in a row with 3 fish to the boat with backwards DOA. One did a 180 turn and hit it as it shook off a grass stalk. Very cool eat. Hard to see, but if you could spot one going by he was hungry. Get the sun at your back and tuck up against treelines to cut the cloud glare down.

lean up here too last night. saw 2 tails in 1/2 a mile, poled over real quiet. they bolted.
Jr. went further south and saw zero. the few that were there did seem to be cruisin.
Jumped into a couple walk to flats nearby and it was a steambath. Nada. Might not turn better until the high tides meet the sunset later this week.
Dream big. Work hard. Wait for the bus.
my temp gauge said 97.5 in the flats today. hottest that I have ever seen. it felt scalding hot.

Very lean last night. Tide got a little high for my liking as well.

i don’t know what it was monday night, but it was uncomfortable hot. where the creeks were washing in was considerably cooler.
walked 1/2 a mile and saw 1. 3 tries and seen like 5 fish.
very lean for me.
i may stop walking and do this the old fashioned way-ride in the boat and guide-scout.
It was brutal hot out there last night. Put in at 6:15 and ran down the Ashley river for quicky. Within the first 30 seconds of getting on the platform, I see a monster doing a headstand. Pitch a bait to him, and he turns on it but don’t eat. Then, a few minutes into it I start seeing fish pushing my way. I set up and make a cast and a nice 26" eats good, but don’t have much fight in him. Release him and pole down the bank 30 yrds or so and find another one waving at me. Dropped the bait on his head and wack he eats. He was very sluggish as well. water in the Ashley was 86.7 degrees. It was a nice hr on the water.

this is good stuff, but it pre-supposes
-
lots of journal notes so as to remember which area has sun at back this time of day, and tree lines;
-
sobriety when notes were made and when fishin is conducted.
i admire but lack such discipline
