Was able to get the water pump replaced with out too many issues, changed the foot oil, plugs, and fuel/water separator. Ran her yesterday for a couple hours straight between 4000-4500 rpm and got her wide open at about 5300 rpm. Ran great without missing a beat until we got back to the landing. The second the bow touched the trailer I got a no oil alarm. I think it may have happened when I tilted the engine up but cannot remember. I got the same alarm after about 10 minutes of running the engine on muffs at idle (while tilted up resting on the support bracket). Oil priming bulb was hard. Any ideas?
Have you got your motor fixed yet? I had this same problem with my 2006 90. It would run fine on plane, but when I brought it down to idle after a few minute the alarm would sound. Shut the motor off wait a minute crank it run fine then alarm. Took it to the shop and found out the VRO oil diaphragm was broke, the mechanic surprised the service manager and said it could be replaced without replacing the VRO, part was ordered no more alarm. I did change out the tack, to one that had light indicators, low oil, hot, etc, etc. No more guessing.
you know VRO stands for Very Rarely Operates
