Been bait shrimpin for 6 years just never coolered out and generally lined up 10 poles and went at it.
-Ever notice that the first pole is more productive?
-Ever notice that placing poles close together makes it near impossible to not disturb shrimp at next pole with boat?
(10 poles within 100 yards leaves only 30 feet between baits)
-Ever notice that waiting longer between runs produces more shrimp?
(probably because you scare them away each run)
-Did you know that placing the bait between poles as opposed to in front of them will give you 11 bait spots as opposed to 10?(outside poles are baited outside
- Using 3 small balls as opposed to one large one will give you more surface area per bait location.
Ok here are my thoughts:
Using 5 poles as opposed to 10 will space them 60 feet apart as opposed to 30 feet. You still get 6 baiting areas by baiting between and at ends of poles.
Most folks have two people in the boat, sooooooooo,Why not get two licenses 5 poles for each license then you can shrimp two areas at once…Still have to be within visual distance of poles at all times and still limited to one cooler per boat.
It costs a lot to shrimp,Just trying to put some ideas out there to help get shrimp. No secret locations given here!
