Decided to try my luck fri after work and fishing was slow but managed a few dinks! The pup whines when I released them too, was pretty funny. Sunday morning tried some top water in all that wind and had several blow-ups but only got one small trout to the boat. Netted up about 100 shrimp and several finger mullet and went to a few pieces of structure and wore out some spottail, black drum and trout. Like I said in Splits post, this was one of my most productive summer time days in many years. Hard to beat days like that!
No spot on either side!
Dang treble got him in the eye, left that part off for ya…
I know I have caught a few that didn’t have a spot on one side or the other, but this was a first to not have any spots on either side…mother nature is pretty (**() cool!
SUP, I fished both styles and both produced fish fairly equally Sunday.
Also, I ran 3 different depths of leader under the bobber, and as the water rose the longer the leader the better the hook-up ratio it seemed but the 2ft leader caught fish as well as long as it was closer to the grass…a good ways up in the grass! So we threw all styles pretty much the whole trip by letting the c-rig soak then cast the bobbers around while keeping an eye on the bottom rod.
