The trout bite was non-existent yesterday. Even with live shrimp. The water looked like nestle’s quick and the current was moving at 1,943kt’s. I hit a few of my regular places where I’ve been slaying them. Tide times were perfect, and literally, not one single trout bite.
My sources tell me it’s going to stay turned off until the full moon and flood tides have passed
Ralph and I had a good trout bite going in the Wando yesterday. Some trolling motor issues cut our day short but in the am from 7-10 was strong. Used TEs with a variety of Z-man baits (TT, StreakZ, MinnowZ). They wanted it deadsticked mostly and the TT was the most effective I suspect because when deadsticked the tail floats up. The wind sucked.
Fished the Wando Wednesday. Saw Ralph Phillips in parking lot. Water was so high we had to remove rods from rod holder to get under Highway 41 Bridge. Wind and high tide made fishing very tough. We ended up with 8 trout and 1 redfish. All fish released. We were using hybrid trout eye jig and chatter bait with a swimming mullet grub. Saw water temp 53-58 degrees.
Same here in the ICW. Flounder and bass from 6 to 10am, stayed out till 2 and not one trout. First Thanksgiving in about 10 years haven’t caught a trout.

Ralph did well today. A bunch of big reds and about 15 good trout. I had my boys and BIL in the lower Cooper and we struggled. Ground out 4 sm trout. It was a little frustrating for me today.
My grandson and I spanked the trout on Wednesday! Trout tricks on the falling tide, we kept 5 over 18 inches, lots of shorts released. 1 fish on Thursday, nothing today.
