I am getting tons of pics of bucks between midnight and 5 AM in 4 separate locations. I have only 3 pics of bucks in daylight. One pic is of two bucks sparring at 3 AM. Pic below.
I can’t remember a time when they were nocturnal so early in the season. There was not been any pressure on them.
Thoughts???
full moon in mid September will do it- they will start cruising for does heavily with the new moon in 2 weeks

Yup! Agree. The same thing is happening to me and most of the people I know.

Same thing happened at my club with the full moon, give it a week or so and they will start moving in the daylight again

A little bit lower temps toward the end of next week ought to get the boys moving too.

Ha,ha…no need to get frustrated. Those wily old bucks are only going to start moving in the daylight when they are good and ready. You just have to be lucky enough to be there when one makes a mistake. Keep feeding them and keep the pressure low, and it will all come together. :).

With this full moon they are doing their major feeding at night when the moon is overhead, and a minor feed at mid-day when the moon is opposite from overhead.
If you check the Solunar tables, you will see this to mostly be the case, both with fish and deer and everything else. I say mostly, because something can always break the norm, like a doe in heat, but they are fairly reliable. Generally speaking, when the moon is close to over head, their main feeding period will begin. No matter the time of day. Fish, fowl or squirrels.

I’ve noticed more nocturnal movement as well for this early. Even with does.
