Noisette Creek seems to be an empty waterin hole.
drowned some shrimp there, nada thing.
threw a twitchin plug, nada thing.
Caught come fiddler crabs and drowned them too, nada thing.
left a little sunburned and a little more smarter. haha.
There lots of good places nearby to try.
Were you in the boat or fishing from shore?

Yea that creek has never produced for me either.
I have had some luck in that creek. Very spotty though. Mainly trout but some reds and flounder as well. Plenty of stuff to get snagged on…

I know some kids crab off of the railroad bridge, at least they did a couple of years ago. I have been in there a half dozen times fishing and didn’t see anything.

Theres nothing like the "Smell" and sounds of the creek. Its not just one thing that makes it familiar..its all of it.

Agreed. I’ve done well from shore working carolina rig and cork, both with mud minnows. Best time for me has been May to early June. Mainly trout but reds and flounder definitely in the area.
On a side note… fishing there one day and got freaked out by a small “tidal” wave that rolled through. The massive cargo ships traveling the Cooper will push a 1-2 ft wave through the creek. Cool to see but had me running towards the truck the first time.

I’ve been wading at the mouth of the creek at a low tide and seen it just about sucked dry due to a passing ship. Actually pretty cool to see.

They blocked off the parking area and posted “no fishing” signs all over the bridge and RR bridge.
I drive through there pretty regularly and havent seen anyone fishing since they posted those signs.
There are so few places to fish from shore, sucks to see one more spot restricted.
I can say that bridge is pretty hairy when an 18 wheeler is coming through and you have people fishing from both sides. That one side is only 12" or so of a curb.
Yes. I was fishing from the bank. tried to go between the bridge and trestle , but as noted , they’ve been blocked off. So we drove to the left and went to the end of the road and then drove through the grass over to the creek. not a bad spot, just across from the n.c. waterfront park.
Sucks to be land locked, but Ima gunna try some other spots.
Any suggestions?
I used to launch my kayak in Noisette fairly often back when I lived on Park Circle. On the right day, right spot, the trout bite can be fantastic. I never got in the yak til the water temps were comfortable to get wet though.
Throwing a cast net isn’t something I’d recommend…as someone else said, lotta stuff to get hung up on all the way through that creek.
