Painting the deck of my flats boat with two part poly from Interlux. Interlux says I can either mix the non skid material into the paint and then roll or roll on a thin layer of paint and sprinkle the non skid material on while it is wet. Anyone got much experience with this? Which one gives a more uniform surface?
if you can get a cheap spray guy from harbor frieght. spray it on

i have done it both ways, and i definately liked the finish much better by mixing the sand into the paint before rolling.
since you are using nonskid, spraying isnt gonna make much difference at all.
I have used the interlux “perfection” 2 part, and its works well.
if once you apply the non skid, you think its to rough, you can apply another coat of just paint over the nonskid, and it will soften it some.
You may also want to consider a sealer to keep it from being such a bear to keep clean.
