I’m looking to paint on some sort of a non-slip grip onto a Carolina Skiff 21DLX. There are a lot of products out there- Do yall have any recommendations? Have you ever used Kiwi grip? How about awlgrip? How bout the Rhino Roll???
I’m not worried about cosmetics whatsoever, the boat is purely for function.
No where near as much as experience as Larry but, I used Kiwi-Grip on an old jon boat I restored and found it to be extremely easy to put down and clean up. I have plans to do the deck of my boat as the non-skid isn’t so “non-skid” anymore.

Especially with 48quarts of shrimp flipping around soon:smiley:!
Yeah, the surface of this skiff is nothing short of dangerous at this point. It looks like the kiwigrip has solid online reviews. I’ll give it a shot and let you know how it turns out.
A few tricks you need to know. First, it is a mess and splatters everywhere including your hair when you roll it out, so mask anything around it that you don’t want it on.
Second, pull the masking tape while it is still wet. It dries fast and if you let it dry any, the edges will tear out. Pull the tape as soon as you get it rolled out.
Wear a hat and old clothes. You will get it on you

Sounds like good advice - I’ll wear some sort of coveralls. I can 100% guarantee I’ll be wearing the stuff afterwards! I have to wear a poncho to drink coffee.
