Fishing from HHI headed north b/c of some lackluster reports from south on Sat… New crew joined me, Tony “free chum” Chirico, Tyler “what kind of fish is that” Smith and P “come on Bo” J. Could not make bait, but pushed on with the frozen to 90’. Some decent marks started our drift and we just sort of bumped around to a total of:
1 Scamp
8-10 ARS largest #15
6 Triggers (one was a good 5#)
100+ BSB
20+ Pink/Silky? snapper(all 3-5#, fight like hell)
10 AJ’s 5#er’s
5 Vermillion
5 or 6 Grunts 5# range(they were big for grunts)
A couple of sharks and some other trash.
I would estimate a total of 300 fish were caught by 3 1/2 people today(sorry Tyler).
Rode out pinned, came home pinned. Left late due to the fog that never was. Great day with OK people(just kidding). Didn’t break any records, but didn’t go more than a couple minutes w/o a bent rod all day. Good stuff for sure, thanks for a great day guys.
Something of note: When we anchored (2 times) the action slowed. Even with a lit screen. Only picked the grouper while sitting(and some little stuff). All the snapper were from 2 distinct spots and all were on the drift.
Think how stupid the average person is, then realize that half the people are dumber than that.
