late report
went out to the North Jetties Saturday because the wind and waves were too much on the south side. wasn’t expecting to catch much since I don’t normally fish the north side. I was completely wrong. caught my personal best 6 sheepshead that day with my crew. conditions were horrible even in my 19ft SeaPro but we managed. we were at the jetties right at low tide, and the bite didn’t turn on until about an hour to an hour and a half once the tide started coming in. all were caught on shrimp Carolina rigged with a 1/2 oz lead, 12" leader and 1/0 mosquito hook (thank you Haddrells)flipped into the rocks and just let the current take it to the bottom. the shrimp we used couldn’t have been bigger than the size of my pinky finger, and it seemed like the smaller the shrimp the larger the sheeps! smallest one was just over 14" all others were well over the size limit and not measured.
hope the pic displays
