Looking for some advice about the North Santee around the Poleyard.
Put in there yesterday and was skunked ( as usual ).
Seeing as how its tidal there, I guess you can expect redfish and sea trout…any chance of hooking up with a striper, or largemouth in that area ? Any advice is appreciated.
I’ve done a lot of duck hunting in that area (and watched fishermen catch redfish at the same time) but most of my fishing has been near the ICW and the bays. Most of my Bass fishing has been further up river. You’re a pretty good stretch from any of my spots via Kayak, though I am sure there are fish available in the area. Gotta be. You might consider pushing a little further S. to McClennenville or to the Sampit in Georgetown for reds from the yak.

Catfishing is good in that area. Huge flatheads.
I haver always wanted to put in up there. Maybe we could do a meet and fish there this fall.
Easy river access with plenty of parking…tricky turn-in when coming from the South.
Best to go past the entrance and make a U-turn.
Don’t know for sure what species are there other than reds…hopefully more will
add on.
