ive had my best luck on the south jetty outside near the dogleg I think its called…
follow the fleet. My best day on slot reds was on the North side very end about 20 yards after rocks disappear under water. If you just want to snag and release a Bull the South side Grillage area is probably the best, an hour on either side of high. fish there much and you’ll loose an anchor.
Dynamite hole is good for a variety and not so bad on tide changes. Have caught kings and seen a few others catch a tarpon from time to time. Also sharks if you like that kind of thing. For sheep head pretty much any area close to the rocks. My personal favorite is fresh shrimp (if frozen, fresh and clean smelling) peeled and chunked. I’ve had better luck with this than fiddlers, probably just me though.
Also catch a bunch of other stuff with this. trout (speck and winter), reds, shark, whiting, BSB, mother-in-law fish, croaker, +some more. Also the south side bend. Not sure what boat your fishing but it can get nasty out there quick.
Here is a quick break down of the area, if you are not familiar with it. Also there are some maps sold that get much more detailed and pretty much take any guess work out of finding a good place to fish.
Right now Sheeps are in good supply, this is from a couple weeks ago:
fred that trout looks rahtarded no spots

HEY, HEY, HEY, no one says rahtarded, its “special”

Looks like a really nice Weakfish.
quote:rADDADDY hase it.. Weak fish.. winter trout. Caught a few under slot and this one. been on ice kind of took color out. No worms in this one. Caught a limit around the P.I. Reef and they all were wormy.

Spent Saturday and Sunday exploring areas to fish in/around Charleston, normally fish out of Little River. Caught something everywhere we dropped a hook except around jetty. Closest was at/near the “2” red buoy off Sullivans Is.
let’s just take it easy here. i apologize
