Here is a perfect example of how you can get screwed relying on the police to protect you. Had this woman had a firearm in the house, I am sure the outcome would have been much different. It would have at my house.

This would be a good medium to start a study. Law enforcement forced to reduce number via budgetary cuts, so local sheriff tells citizens to arm themselves properly and then watch the crime rate afterwards.
