Not really fishing, but still good yak time

Took the family to paradise landing with plans of riding the falling tide to Cat island for some fossil hunting. Half mile in I was dragging a shrimp grub which gets hit. I hand it to my son who is riding in the tankwell of my yak. He gets it to about 6’ before it spit the hook. No more fish, but still had a lot of paddling and lots of shark teeth.

We fought the wind to the island for a well earned break. The kids rode the rope swing, the wife relaxed, and we generally had a great time. Once the tide turned we started back. The wind shifted just enough to NOT help us head back up river. It was quite a long ride but we eventually made it back.

Five plus hours of good water and family time made all the body aches worth it though.

The wind spirit does not like to help with water sports. Kinda like how smoke from camp fires always goes your direction no matter how often you move.
