Nothing exceptional yesterday

Took some folks out, first time for one of the 10 year old kids. Slow day, managed a few dolphin, bottom fished for a bit on the way home, nice triggers, etc. Dad of the young man said it was okay to post his pic. His first trip, first fish offshore. Great kids, hope to take them again. I posted on FB at 30 pounds, but actual weight is 29 pounds, 8 ounces, weighed at Haddrells. Rounding off at 30 was easier on FB. I know that everyone has seen a million dolphin, but this was little man’s first ever offshore fish. The other little man caught a few, and he was happy when we tagged one of his dolphin for Don Hammond. He is hoping someone else will catch it when it “grows up”. Teach them early and they are all about the tagging. The two 10 year olds pretty much caught everything all day, they were cheering each other on, so refreshing to see them high-fiving, etc. Great kids means great parenting.

Nice

If it fly’s, floats, or, friggs, rent it!

That phin is as big as the kid!

That boy looks both happy and wore out! That’s the way to raise children right there :sunglasses:

30lb’er is a great first dolphin! Heck it’s a good Dolphin for anyone!!!

Awesome. I have 5 kids and my 8yr old always catches the biggest fish. My 3 older kids can’t figure out why they cant catch fish sitting at home on the couch. My eight year old never turns down a trip. If we fish he goes. Congrats on the trip. I am sure he will never forget it.

That’s awesome!! Anyone would be proud of that fish!! Good on you for putting the kids on them.

Great trip and great memory for those young men. Love to put new folks, especially kids, on their first offshore fish. Thanks for sharing.

Nice job, Fran and crew! Hope you’ve been well…been a while!

Thanks all. Just in case some of you might be wondering, his other hand is in the gill plate, trying to hold the fish up. He tried. We were going to take them this weekend, but when the tropical system reared it’s ugly head, went to Thursday. Making memories on Prowess. Good day for us, even though fishing was slow. Happy for the little guys.
SchoolsOut, stop by sometime.
