Fished to the south today. After lines in immediately picked up a nice stick fish. The dolphin bite still seems slow, only took 6. Nice ride in and out but, man, it always seems to beat the snot out of you 10 miles from the hill. Great day on the pond.
Fish story
My dad bought two custom rods, one with his name on it and the other with mine, with penn senator 4/0 reels 25 years ago when I was seven. He really didn’t know much about offshore fishing and consequently they never got used. Five years ago he bought a 23 Contender, not to fish, but because he wanted a good solid well made boat. This weekend I finally took his boat offshore to fish. Shortly after dropping our lines Sunday morning, the first fish hit. It hit on the rod with my dads name on it. I grabbed it and started reeling the fish in when it jumped out of the water. The first fish caught with his rod on his boat was a sailfish.
