What do you guys think about a Saturday November 9th Meet and Fish? Low tide is in the morning…

We can discuss places…any ideas?

Thanks,

Scott

Darn - I give it my best effort to join you guys every month

But I have a Charter on The 9th

Capt Dave
SC Malibu Kayak Dealer & Kayak Fishing Charters

I’m in. Doesn’t matter where as long as it isn’t too far from Charleston.

I’ll be working that weekend unfortunately.

Stono River…Sol Legere Landing…Two ramps plus the shoreline is hard so us Kayakers should not have to use the ramp.

We’ve never been there before for a M&F - would the parking accommodate our group? I hear it is a small ramp and little parking…

I really do not think that the parking will be a problem. As I pointed out some folks can use the ramp and others can launch from the shoreline from the right and left of the two ramps.

We could park vehicles behind each other. The issue with that is the folks that are blocked in will need to be fishing longer or before we launch reposition the vehicles so the ones that plan on fishing the entire day are blocked in by the folks that are only fishing for part of the day.

I feel that we can make it work.

Going to Virginia that weekend. Maybe someother time.

Thanks for the scouting, DD…let’s do this one.

Saturday, November 9th at 7:30 AM - meet and launch at Battery Island Landing, at the end of Sol Legare Road on James Island.

This landing is on the Stono River. Low tide is at 7:22 AM, so a good opportunity to fish the incoming tide.

Directions: Take Hwy 171 onto James Island - go approx. 5.9 miles past the drawbridge to Sol Legare Road - make a right. Landing/ramp is all the way at the end.

If you’re unfamiliar with the “Meet and Fish”, it is just a chance for the local kayak fishing crowd to simply get together and fish. Also if you are looking into getting a kayak to fish, it is a good opportunity to see some rigged kayaks and ask questions! We are a friendly lot…

See y’all then…

Lewis, Are we still on for the meet & fish tomorrow?

If two wrongs don’t make a right, try three.

Yes! The wind is forecast to diminish tonight and improve tomorrow as well…I think we’ll be good.

We had five total for the Meet and Fish…

I caught about a dozen of these - most were around this size but I did get a few over 15" too.

DDOlson with a nice one…he had a nice stringer by the end of the day.

Good seeing y’all out there!

Wish I could have made it!

This Meet & Fish had to have been the best yet. Everyone was on the fish from what I could see. Thanks LGB for posting pictures.

The one that I’m holding measured 17" caught using a popping cork and vudu shrimp.

The largest for me was an 18 incher caught using a Trout Trick set up weedless.

It was great meeting everyone.

i had a blast, thanks JP for tagging me along with you, JP and I were slaying them with the same setup, vudu shrimp and cajun bobber.

It was a good trip. I was skeptical about fishing that area but DDOlson made a good call. We had the best luck fishing the bank. Caught about a bakers dozen of trout. About half on a vudu and half on mud minnows under a cork. When the bite was on a hotdog would have worked. But, once the action stopped it completely shut off. We probably should have tried deeper water later on. We worked the creeks for redfish but didn’t have any luck. Thanks for putting this together, guys. I wish we got a better turnout. Y’all missed some good fishing.
