Our meeting in November is going to be centered around story telling and putting message board names with a face. Please come on over to the Flight Deck and take part in this entertaining program. We have several new members of the club that are active and I’m sure would love to hear some stories and meet people they only catch up with on the message board.
We will also be doing a swap and shop as part of this meeting. Bring in any fishing equipment you have for trade and see if you can’t turn it into something you may be able to use. This only works if we get good participation so please see what you can find laying around.
I hope to see everyone next week!
I have a bunch of odds and ends i would like to get rid of. Will have a lot of 2oz eggs. Will also be bringing a 50gal Steve Baker bait tank if anyone is looking for one.

Are non-members allowed? If so, when is the meeting? I am not much of a striper fisherman, but I like to chase them when they are schooling. I am interested in learning more about how to catch them at other times. I have the boat but not much of the other required equipment, but I want to learn how to set up my boat for trolling and fishing down rods.

Sure, come on over and check us out Bowhunter. Meet some club members, get a feel for it and maybe join up the first of the year if you prefer…I started fishing for stripers many many years ago and remember going about 6 months before I ever caught my first striper on my boat…I Figured I can learn this on my own , read all the fishing reports for free, and didn’t need to spend 30 bucks a year to join a club…I had that mind set for years, then when i moved to North Georgia, I hired a guide, Mac Farr, to get a jump start on learning Lake Lanier. He told me if you really want to learn the lake and get your fishing in high gear, join the North Georgia Striper Club. Well I resisted for a year, and then I started competing in tournaments on Lanier…and realized I’m one man competing against about 20 that share information…lol How can I beat that? So I joined them…and wow did i feel foolish for not taking advantage of the good ole boy network years before. Mac was right and my fishing success took a giant leap forward. You can do the same now …or wait and wish you had years down the road… The fun is in the catching…The tournaments force you to stay after them and improve…You’re not really fishing against anyone but yourself…You just go out and try to do better in the standings than you did last month…or try to do better this January than you did last January…and plenty of club members will help you along when you need advice, new techniques, new areas of the lake to try…Its great to meet new people to fish with, a chance to get on someone elses boat just to see what they are doing or how they are set up, or when your boat is in the shop…and our guys know lakes and water from New York to South Georgia, from Arkansas to Cape Hatteras , NC. Come on out and introduce yourself, ask some questions, don’t be shy…Share your observations and plenty will tell you what they have learned…We all were new at this at some point in the past…and we all have people we greatly appreciate for teaching us how to get be
