You will be very pleased. Our water is still very dark, so couple the TroutEye with a white or glow or pearl plastic with chartreuse tail for best results. High tide has been best on the main rivers; Low tide is best up in the creeks.

Fishguy, sort of both. I found a big school of fish piled up in deep water using my depth finder. I used a heavier lead eyed clouser, cast upstream and let it sink into the zone (floating line). Could see the strike by watching the line. Very fun
Optiker, those are some nice fish and thanks for the report. Have been looking forward to using my fly rod. I’m a novice but can’t wait to get a hook up.

Larry I’ve been pretty happy with it. I actually use it to find fish in deep water. I used to only use them for depth. This one has downscan which is pretty cool but in hindsight I would use sidescan more I think. The chirp is cool because you can ID a blob as a tree for example but I tend to use the traditional view the most. I know you know this - but this is for the benefit of others
Let me admit this; I get a chuckle seeing all you young guys with your fly rod in your mouth, holding a nice fish. Heck, if I did that, I’d lose a denture … .
