Now Might Be a Good Time

There has been a run of good weather and fish are being caught. Caught our first Mahi of the year also.

Yesterday, Tax Day, 72 degrees at the Banks, 74 just a bit further out. 65 degrees in 50 feet.

Sorry almost no one posts anymore but here is a weather report at least.

Thanks for the report! There’s a few of us old diehards that appreciate it!

Thanks for the report

Thanks for your report! We went last Sunday caught couple limits of BSB and one good King. Just looking for another descent wind day for a trip out to the deep water! :sunglasses:

Curious how deep where you caught the king and what water temp?

Thanks.

60-70 feet, think 67 degrees in that area. love kings for grill… we got one barricuda about 12 pounds and a striped tuna (bonita) gilled both to bleed when caught. Blackened shortly at about 400-500 degrees, all loved them! so many people refuse to try the “old nasty trash” fish. and I was one of them for a long time< now i know better!!! Kings be in in May-June good fishing! :sunglasses:

I’ve had Bonita before smoked and it was fine.

I don’t have the desire to eat a cuda. I think most people around here that refuse to eat it to so on the basis of it having some nasty parasite or something. Something about the temp of our water promotes it. Bwang will be by shortly to tell us why is not a great idea.

I’ll leave the ciguatera to @Rapchizzle as I truly don’t know enough to comment

Where’s the Carolina Gold? Usually by now we’ve heard a big “bull” story

nice catch, lets keep the reports going. I hope to be out there friday
