Fishing from my favorite bank on daniel island. Great spot with a small creek mouth and a large oyster bed right near the mouth. I have to walk through the woods to get to this spot.
A small 17’ scout is cruising down the wando and sees me fishing the bank. Then SPEED up to within casting distance of me so the wake is now splashing me. Im literally trying to do breathing exercises from screaming at these drunks. Then they start casting in my direction! I was in shock. They Fished for 10 minutes (best part is when drunk 1 screams out “FISH ON!!!” and pulls up a 4 inch pin fish), and then peel out again leaving their wake splashing me again.
Im one of those guys that likes to talk fishing and share fishing space. I just couldn’t believe the cajones on these guys. They were all decked out in brand new fishing gear so im sure they are members on this site.
I am not a rat, but this case, is it cool to call DNR and just be like, i know they didnt do anything illegal, but there are a bunch of drunks in the wando?

there are plenty of “hey bo’s” who are not also members of this site…
sorry they ruined your fishing…I’m sure it wouldn’t hurt for you to call DNR on them, but unless they happened to have somebody in that area and the person who took your call in Columbia knew there was somebody in the area I doubt they would send a boat after them…
Bullets sink boats. Man that sucks you had to deal with that. The problem with idiots in everything is they will always show up. Make something idiot proof and someone will make a better idiot.
“My fish served a whole lunchon. Your fish look like a munchkin”
Im definitely not trying to just complain about a bad outing, was just frustrated of the lack of disrespect on the water. I forgot to mention i caught a fat trout about 25 minutes after they left
This kind of thing happens to all of us every day out there. Why does everyone feel the need to put every little act of stupidity on this forum. Sorry, it sucks, and its gonna happen again. Complaining about it here won’t help.

Photos and short video clips of these guys will surely help. I have promised myself to start doing just that. Pointing out the stupidity of these folks surely cannot hurt and, hopefully, their friends will harrass them into changing their behavior. We had a boat go past us at about 30mph in a creek near Busy Park that was about 40 feet wide. This is not only stupid AND dangerous, it is actually against the law to pass that close to an anchored boat on a full plane. Some folks have never heard of the Golden Rule. I promise to start pointing some of them out and hope everyone else will do so. Part of being stupid is not knowing that you are.

thats when you need to throw some 4-5oz prymaid sinkers into there boat
What happens when they throw back some lead from a gun? Or they motor to the shore, get out and do a three on one beatdown? Drunks can be unpredictable, especially when there’s more than one.
I say write down their registration numbers off the boat, take pics if possible, post them on here and then write them off as a$$holes.

this is pathetic, leave the guns in the safe, the camera and your phone are the best weapons, learn and know the rules on the water, if you are witnessing someone violating those rules, let DNR know. Pulling a gun out for some one taking your fishing spot is stupid, you’re going to end up in jail or in the ground. If you’ve had any alcohol on board, just having a gun will end up in a free trip to the county lockup. If someone is being discourteous to you while fishing, let them know(while the camera is running), they’ll usually back off and go somewhere else. IF they don’t, leave the spot and make enough noise to make sure there’s no fish left around
