Number 2

Just read in the State newspaper that South Carolina ranks 2nd in the nation for bad drivers. Louisiana came in first.

Can’t say I the least bit surprised. Running redlights has become epidemic here in Columbia. Between that and nimrods talking/texting, I feel like I am running a gauntlet to and from work everyday.

I’m pretty confident we’re number 1 for best-looking women.

Ever drive on the Interstate in Louisiana? Pot holes the size of Rhode Island and 70mph do not mix. Louisiana has some of the worst roads I have ever seen.

Key West 1720 115 HP Johnson Saltwater.

I secound that DF, I lived in cola for about 4 years after college and yellow lights were a joke, got to where you had to wait a second or 3 after you got the green for the intersection to clear out. Also the road rage in cola was off the charts!

Driving in dt Charleston I’ve just started going around people that are being idiots. It’s terrible

As I was driving to work on Old Barnwell Rd. yesterday, a jerk coming the other way came over into my lane. I had to go offroading on the right side just to miss him. He swerved back into his lane at the last second. I saw the phone in his hand as he passed. It’s a good thing someone was paying attention or I could have been another statistic.

From my experience of driving the interstate every day, I’d say the worst drivers are from NC and WV.

Yeah right. Where do they get these stats from. Never seen anything as bad as South Florida and I have been all over the world.

I’m with skineej, I’ve never seen anywhere worse than Miami.

I think they counted number of citations issued. I bet if you removed Cottageville and Round-O, we’d probably be somewhere in the 40’s.

I’m sure you are right, but that seems a bit apples to apples to me. And as you kind of indicated, we could easily be one of the most aggressive states at issuing citations.

The Miami driving is a **** show down there and you hardly see anyone ever getting pulled over. They have so many assholes down there to worry about, you probably have to be doing like 90 in a 45 to get noticed.

Honestly, I don’t understand how the media even releases articles like this. Do none of them have a brain? I mean come on… Saying that Lousiana and SC are worse than New York? New York is notorious for bad driving… It’s like the nations oldest punchline…

The article would have probably been more appropriately titled “Which states have the most small towns that survive from citation revenue?” I would probably not be as skeptical of that one…

I lived in Miami, Tampa, Boston, New York city, and DC. In DC I lived 26 miles from my where I worked. If I drove it took my 2.5 hour in the morning and almost 3 in the evening. They are pricks up there, but they do not come to a complete stop when making a right hand turn, they don’t do 40 mph in the far left lane of a highway when the speed limit is 60, they don’t come to a complete stop when merging on the highway, they don’t take 15 minutes to park, they turn right on red. I could go on for ever here, SC drives suck. Like I said big city drivers are pricks, but at least they know that and what there intentions are so it keeps you on your toes, not this I am 500 yards away from a front of me making a right hand turn and I still have to hit my breaks cause they decided to come to a complete stop BS. And yes this state sucks with it traffic citations also. If this state did not have better fishing and better food than the others I would have left long ago!!! Oh and the military says I have to be here!

It must have changed since you left. Try to get from one side of the interstate to the other in Miami and tell me how many near death experiences you have… There is ZERO courtesy down there and nobody is going to let you over. Text messaging is way out of control down there. There is about a 90% chance that the first guy at the light is not going to go when it turns green and cars will continue to whip through a red light until the opposing traffic actually get’s aggressive and goes.

It sounds like you are confusing “danger” with you being impatient.

I have driven out in Los Angeles, 16 lanes, 8 ways one way. Try getting from an inside lane to an outside lane to get to an exit. They act like it is a war out theret o keep you from getting in front on them. Got stopped by a CHP for speeding. I told the guy it was self-preservation, I was just speeding to keep from getting run over. Seems he stopped me because I was in a rental. They are bat-stuff crazy out there.

Charlotte is the asphalt armpit of the southeast. Every time I drive in, or through, Charlotte, I am reminded of exactly why I am so very thankful not to live near it anymore.

Saying “I am offended” is telling everyone else that you cannot control your own emotions, and thus you need everyone else to do it for you.

I’ve driven all over the world. Italy, Japan. Worst ever is South Korea. Worst here it’s probably Florida. Best drivers, believe it or not, Texas.
