you should give that back, cause if it was yours I doubt you would want to sell it. but who knows.

I knew a kid that used to work in a dry dock that came up with some unique fishing gear.

I hesitate to respond to this, but you are accusing me of stealing something and you do not even know me. Come over and check out the box and paperwork that comes with it. Or the Raymarine that it came out of. Or any of the other fishing gear that I bought with my hard earned money and am selling. I guess since you can hide behind your computer you don’t mind throwing out baseless incenuations.

ats I’m new to this site but not to fishing or this world.

I did not mean to offend you, but I have yet to meet a true fisherman that would sell numbers or use them to nagotiate a fishing trip. Or at least not numbers that are not already plastered on public charts and overfished.

I hide nowwhere and what I stated I do not feel was baseless incenuations. I was just calling it as I interpreted it. If I’m wrong my appologies and an invitaion to a beer.

When you get in with true fishermen they will give you a few numbers from time to time, but like me most are not going to tell you prime areas they searched and found offshore.

As a closing statement, if anyone takes you up on the fishing trip for your numbers, I would really check out that persons skills on the water before venturing too far off shore.

This is pretty good…

Depends on the fisherman … When it comes to numbers … Charleston is a game of its own. I am from Asheville dealt with a lot of fly fisherman … catch a release heres the spot and whats hatching hell down here if you ask where someone fishes, they tell you “the water”

Yikes - the winter posts have started early this year.

Joeboo,
Partner, all I can tell you and Hurricane is that is not the case here in Charleston. I moved here 3 years ago. Met some great guys and have been fishing with several that I have met on here. I have developed some great friendships from this board. Nobody on here will readily divulge fishing information on the www. For every member there are probably 3 lurkers, just reading posts looking to snag a spot. Just about every peoson I have met on here has, at one time or another, offered to take me fishing with them. And they will be glad to help with spots, tips and tricks. In person. A man does not need a piece of equipment anymore and wants to sell it on here. Why not leave a few numbers in it? There are many spots around here that suck, unless you hit it at the right tide cycle. A spot is not the be all/end all. You still hhave to put your time on the water. I fish with Hairball almost every weekend. That guy teaches me something new every time about a spot we may fish all the time. A spot is just that. A location. Way more to saltwater fishing than that.

There is some serious wisdom in this one. You can fish with me anytime Joe.

yeah Texas, I know I was just informing the other guy, I have been here 3 years too. I am okay with the elusivness though because I do realize that a lot of charter captains pay there bills with consistant redfish … In Asheville very few of the fly fisherman take home the trout they catch. So I wouldn’t release my spots either if I had spots haha

When I was in the navy I lived in panama city beach florida a total of 6 years, two different 3 year tours. I accrued some ridicluously good numbers over time by trolling ang marking bottom and coming back to it to see if it held fish. I had roughly 300 spear fishing dives on a lot of the same numbers. I was the sole reason florida shut their snapper season down for 2 years . I gave my numbers to a friend of mine when I left because I wasn’t coming back after my last tour, we made a pact that when he left they would go to another navy diver and the same pact made. Point is, they are his numbers to do with what he wants, if someone wants to pay for them, who cares, but if he is credible and needs the money or just getting out of fishing, what’s the problem.

He could give out hand jobs for $100 each and keep the chip... Some people will do anything when they "need" $200.
