ocean kayak

what do you all think about ocean kayak prowler 13 there is one close by for $695 on craiglist seat, paddle, and life jacket

prowlers are ok no pun intended… Make sure you take a close look at it… I see a lot of prowlers on docks rotting inthe sun then people try to sell them and the hull will crumble in your hands… look at it close, if it has sun fade walk away no matter what the cost…

I have one and i love it. It’s very stable and had plenty of storage. They are heavy yaks but they seem to paddle pretty easily and track straight. Id recommend one but i agree with nikon, make sure its in good shape

thanks for the input guys there is another on craiglist wilderness system 135 $650.00 going to look at both this weekend any preferences

I’m a Wildy fan and Pro Staffer. The Ride 135 gets my vote. THe Prowler 13 will be a tad faster, the Ride more stable… stand up and fish stable.

I have a OK Trident 15 and love it but then again I am not a small man and sometimes I do paddle long distances, my son (9 yr old) has a prowler that we bought new for less than that. I have also had a Ride and for those prices I would recomend the ride hands down.

I have a 15’ sit-on top wilderness systems and I will be moving to the charleston area in june and was wondering what I have to do to register it. In Florida if a vessel has no motor and is under 16’ it did not need to have numbers displayed. Up here in South Dakota no one knew what to do. So when I get down there I just want to be legal.

Thanks TooBusy I can’t wait to do just that

own a OK prowler trident 13 and its very nice, but I usually let whoever I bring with me paddle it because I have more room in my Manta Ray 12. That “rod pod” hatch thing isn’t as cool as I thought it would be…actually not terrible for a smaller paddler, but it takes up a tad too much room for my maximum comfort. My 5’ 2" wife has NO objection to it, but at 6’ 240lbs it’s in my way sometimes.

That said, I HAVE paddled it for 6+ hours and it wasn’t terrible, just not as comfy as the Manta Ray.

When you get there, contact Tommy(too busy). He is an expert kayaker and fishing guide, writer, and can teach you what you need to know about the area for a fair price. Nice guy! www.kayakfishsc.com

Wow Bill, thanks for the endorsement. Let me know when you get down this way. We’ll go fish near your cousin’s place.
