Took a group from Macon, GA fishing on Saturday, had a pretty good trip but at the same time disappointing. We found the sails, but our dredge was in my truck and the boats with dredges were the ones who caught most of the sails. We went 1 for 6 on sails, caught 3 fourty pound wahoo and a pair of smaller dolphin. Both boats fishing near us tore up the sails, 15 each. We had lots of bites, but only hooked up on 6 and released one. Great weather, 2-3 foot seas and light winds.

40 pounders!

I need to get a scale like yours for our wahoo

z71 - i think i know where you might find one, but they are only available on al gore’s internet.

One of the pictures weighted in at over 37 lbs, actually, just taking a wild guess, they were all good fish.

Good job! They look great to me! I don’t eat 40lbs of hoo at a time anyway…

i bet it was the second one that weighed 37. it looks bigger than the other two, especially if you notice its being held down low and not out like the others.

Hey! Don’t bust al gore’s balls…If it weren’t for him, we would not be able to see all these fine fishing reports

great fishing

Nice fish!!! Thanks for the report! what kinda depth did you catch the hoos? planers?

Caught the wahoo in 400 ft, two on a planer, one on momo. interesting story, shotgun line got tangled with the short rigger which had the hoo bite. When the mate tried to gaf the wahoo, the short rigger got bit off, but shogun line was wrapped in wahoo’s gillplates, mate grabbed the line with the gaff, pulled the wahoo close to him and gaffed it, thats what I call sh#thouse luck and a very alert mate, good job Robert.

Looks like fun…Nice goin!

That sounds like a lucky scenario for sure!!! A good captain to drive over them and a good mate to gaff them!!!
