Made it almost to north end of Royal Terrace around 8:00 AM.
Dropped lines in at 140 ft. Water temp near 79 F.
Picked up a a small BTF to start the morning.
Continued out to work toward and along ledge around 160-180 ft.
Picked up several more BFT along with bonita and cudas.
Small rain shower was moving in on us and therefore we started trolling south to miss it. Couldnt out run the rain shower without picking up lines. Showers looked small so we continued to fish.
As soon as the light rain was on us, the flat line 30w started screaming. I thought another bonita maybe bigger was on.
The angler, “Slow-Reeling Jim H.”, did a good job bring the fish straight in within a few minutes and after much heckling from the captain. Joke was on the Capt as Mike did quick work with the gaff and brought aboard a nice 40# WAHOO.
Thanks to good work by a new crew that had never fished together, we boated 5 bft and a good wahoo. First wahoo and tuna for the boat and very fun day of Sunday fishing on a beautiful ocean.
I use this site much more than I contribute but I trying to be a better member of the community. Thanks to all that are more vigilant about their reports.
