Oct. 7 Wando Trout

Played hooky from work with Gotcha this afternoon. Put in at a very quiet Remleys Point landing and headed up river. Wind and waves made for a spirited (damp) ride in Lee’s very fast 17’ Scout. Found a quiet creek and started throwing grubs.

Lots of hits and nibbles. I ended up with two trout and one lizard fish. Lee caught one and one lizard fish. Got there a bit late on high tide, but it was definitely worth the trip. All fish released to GROW.

Tide: Incoming to High
Lures: Red 1/4 oz teardrop jig heads with copper, silver, gray, and chicken grubs. Color didn’t matter much.
Water: Stained (getting clearer)

Thanks Lee!

You’re welcome, Mike, but I’ll have to actually put you on some fish next time. It was fun chatting, but slow fishing. We might also want to check the wind to make sure there are no hurricanes next time. That ride back was a trip.

Catch you later.

No fish in the Wando, that’s why it was slow. Fish the Ashley, just don’t eat them…

yeah dont fish the wando

Theres fish there, just not alot of them. I caught a 4 pound flounder there today.

Nah, the spot we fished just wasn’t turned on good that day. It likely will be soon, though. I have to do some moving around looking for the fish because my boat’s been sitting in the garage for months unused. Friday was way too windy to be scouting.
