Went out for a few hours yesterday to do some Easter fishing. Water was very stained and it was a little windy but it was such a nice day that I had to get out there. I fished the falling tide and ended up with two slot reds and one keeper trout (released) and one throw back. The best fish was the smallest trout that I got on top water! This was my first trout on top water and it was so exciting that all i threw the rest of the evening was my spook. I was celebrating on the bow casting deck as if the DAWGS had just won a national championship. Also, had a huge red on a scrimp under a cork, but he got the hook out with the help of dock a post. The other fish were caught on z man paddle tails.

Thanks guys. And yep, you are doomed in a good way cause you will probably catch fewer fish but they will be much more exciting. although, I have seen days where top water was on fire and nothing else was. I have been addicted to top water ever since I can remember. Ever since that first large mouth many years ago. I got my first red last year and first trout this year. That little trout absolutely crushed the bait. I am looking forward to catching many more on the top. I think i am going to get my fresh water box out and grab a few miscellaneous top waters out of there. I got a bunch of pop-r s, chug bugs, and torpedos that should work in the salt as well. I am really excited to try the chug bug. I can see the trout going crazy over that thing!I think it will produce both trout and reds.Anyone have any luck on any of those?
