Set out on Felix at 5am Lines in at 7:30 at 130 ft. 1 foot seas with 8 seconds… Landed two kings. Then Jay Speer hooked this Sail Fish at 145 Ft our first to the boat. Jay handed off two cuta’s to Gigi who decided to take a nap as usual so I got to fight this nice Wahoo at about 250 ft. Never saw a Dolphin ran through several broken weed lines out to 300 Ft. and found a well formed line at 200 Ft at 100PM on are way back toward home. Had chatter all the way from NC. Missed the storm Hot but a good day.
Why do I feel like this thread may be a long one?

Last night I lay in bed looking up at the stars in the sky and I thought to myself, where the heck is the ceiling?
Well, see…
they did not fully remove it from the water.

That fish is not completely out of the water, so… what is the verdict??
Man that is one calm looking sea

We never removed the fish completely from the water. The fish was hot still almost got Gigis hand and was handled in under 15 seconds. Did not take a few seconds to swim away with plenty of steam.
I’m worried! That pic has been posted now for an hour and we are still on page one.
If you look at either of those picture this fisherman is clearly only here to help this fish with it’s sinus problems and has loan it his hanky…
Looks like an all around good release to me…hand low on the bill to avoid breaking it, use of rag so as not to remove valuable fish slime (its like magic dust on moths). As long as the fish swam off I call that a success and a very good day!!
The brownness in the fish shows lack of 02. Once it is re-02’d by pulling it through the water a bit it will get its color back. A lot of this business about taking a fish out of the water has more to do with proper handling of it in the process, although I tend to go for the boatside pic most of the time.
Good day guys!!
By the way the guy in the first picture looks a lot like a late great psychadelic musician…even has the shades

Your right Gigi does look a bit like him or one of those guys at the beer tents in Munich. I lost him once at a rodio and when the cow girls asked me what he looked like I told them “the one tha looks like a trole” They stayed with us the rest of the night…
Im glad to see people like myself utilizing the Boaters World combo penn senators and penn slammer rods, they simply work great and are virtually problem free, yet the rods are crap

hi Jay,
nice job on the sail and by the way a great wahoo.
i prefer the pictures in the water hile rebreathing, but often clients want their pic with the full fish on it, so we take them out too, they need more time beeing pulled alongside then but always get their color back and speed away.
congrats
Mike
