How has the dolphin bite been outta little River. Just wondering what areas have been the best. Looking to get out there ASAP. Im ready for a change of scenery, been beating off boats in Cherry Grove trying to catch flounder. Im kinda new to the off- shore scene. I rescently bought a 24 foot seapro and I’m looking to get in on the action. I’ve been going to some of the closer areas like the Sherman and doing well with the Cobes and spades. My boat is a single engine, and I’m just waiting on the fish to move closer in.
Congratulations on your boat and welcome to the forum. Glad to hear you’ve had success at General Sherman. Sounds like you’re ahead of the game. I don’t know anything about the dolphin bite, maybe somebody else can chime in.

You have a great boat for kings, etc. The Jungle, Shark Hole, LightHouse Rocks, Hammer Rock, 390/390, Christina Ledge, and so forth will produce some dolphin fish for you soon enough. Get a chart at West Marine and that will help you. Also, be wary of the forecasts. Watch whats going on. The weather can make you hate offshore very quickly if you don’t pay attention to it. Good luck, and nice rig.
Appreciate the response. Can’t wait to post some pics. Hope to see ya’ll out on the water.
Wait, is this Kent Altman, friend of the Strickland boys? LOL You’ve done better than just good with the cobia. Holla back sometime. We wore the spanish out yesterday on the beach, by the way. Derrick and his little boy loved it.
yeah it’s me Kevin. Whats up man we tore the spanish up the other day when we went out too. They have been real thick. Not much of a fight but fun as hell to catch. I’m just ready to get on some dolphin man. Not gonna have much time to go for the next week or so. Finally got my boat rigged the way I want it. we need to get up and go first time we get a good day. Get together that crew that got the shaft last year on that charter.
Good deal, Kent. I will talk with some of the guys and see where they have been catching the dolphins at. We used to get a few small boats together every spring and go to the bread and troll. I don’t know whatcha got on the back of that Sea-Pro, but if you know some guys with similar boats, it’s a ton of fun if you catch the weather just right. We can get with the fellas later on and see if we can’t get out there for a trolling/groupa trip. I know some real nice groupa spots. Holla atcha soon, man.
