Off The Hook- FFM Day 1

weather couldn’t have been better…except maybe 10 knts less wind and 2’ less on the ocean. what a washing machine.

slow day fishing for the team. First fish of the day was our biggest- came on a prop wash bait. That took the pressure off early. Caught only 2 other kings all day. Moved once and immediately had a pair of sails come up as we were letting out baits. Real lazy bite. Had time to pitch one out on a spinning rod (coming from the helm), but couldn’t get one to take my bait. That one went for another rod, but missed. We ended up catching the other one- pretty sporty on a TLD 15. Shallowest one that we’ve caught yet. Our big kingfish ended up 6th for the day- 30# even. Had one other king smoke a blue runner only to pull the hook.
Tally for the day: 3 kings, 1 sail, 2 sharks.
Back on the high seas again tomorrow.

nice sail in 60 ft- too bad it was not worth 30K. how went sat?

better ocean, slow bite. Teenagers. Not enough winnings to cover BG’s new gold rope.

Congrats on the fish. We also caught a sail on saturday in 90’. We lost our career making king to his toothy friend right of our bow.
