my family is out of the woods up that way so you decide what kinda mess youre in. :o} apreciate your service but will miss you here. i hear they have a blast with the stripers on the fly on the roanoke. dont remember any details but it was one of those top things to do in the S.E. – that and the albies. the nc watermen board has a fly forum that is much like this one in tone. i need to go on more. think i go as pawleysi there also.

he’s pretty white for a fly guy

If you’re still in Fayetteville the Little River flows through the backside of Fort Bragg. It’s been a while since I’ve been there (ten years) but I used to wear out the river largemouth on the Little River by casting up in the spillway troughs at the old dam. If you go straight through post you’ll come to a T section. An undisclosed compound is on your right…you’ll know it by the high fence and barbed wire keeping people out…not in (try not to have car trouble in this area, if you do…try not to act like a threat). At the stop sign take a right. Come to your next stop sign and take a left. Almost immediately there will be a gravel road on your right, take it…you’ll cross over the Little River on this gravel road. Next black top road take a left. Next gravel/sand road on your left, take it. At the end of the gravel/sand road you’ll see the old ■■■■ on your right. The MP’s might run you off if you’re on the ■■■■ but the river is good to wade…good hard sand bottom. Cast your fly up into the dam troughs and let it come back on the seem. Good luck.
