Official, Fall B.A.R.F. 2007

Come on P4R,

The area around Hunting Island Lagoon that we included this year allows for alot of kayaks… Tecnically the whole flats area across the Harbor River to Harbor Island provides alot of water…

Next year, we will open it up… and probably have to find another location for the Frogmore Stew/Captains Meeting and Social on Friday night.

Have you given consideration to parking? Evidently not. There isn't much parking space at the lagoon, unless you park at south beach & drag your kayak to the lagoon. And it's an awful long paddle from the lagoon to Harbor Island. If the winds up, as it has been, I don't see many people heading into Fripp Inlet paddling around Hunting Island to Harbor River.

I say we fish 5 days & work 2

Murray…sorry about that, it was early for me, not thinking right.
If I don’t break another rod between now and then,…yeap, I got a rod and reel for ya. Broke a TFO 8wt. 2 weeks ago, thought I’d be smart and put it in the cab instead of the bed of my truck…My door didn’t like it:frowning_face: It turned my 4pc. into a 7pc.

You are right about the parking situation… :face_with_head_bandage:

I suspect we will have to park in South Beach area and rotate to the parking lot near the lagoon to unload and load. That was another reason to widen the area… In the past, this has been more about getting together and fishing with other kayak fishermen, not just a fishing tournament.

All that being said, the expanded area now allows for four launch sites, The Lagoon, Russ Point Landing, Butch’s Landing and Johnson Creek Landing. Plus surf launches for those so inclined.

Next year we will have to expand, and most likely find another site to hold the Captain’s meeting/Frogmore Stew meet and greet, and “Weigh-in.”

This year, and past years, were advertis

Mornin’;
…that’s alot of shrimps,…but sounds like we got a lot of peoples. People don’t tend to eat alot of shrimp if they have to work at peeling em’. I’m sure yours are unsorted. But, if they average 50 count, that’s 500 shrimp (16.6 shrimp per person)probably pretty close.

a.k.a. "X-Fishin’ "

I will verify the count per pound and plan accordingly… Will figger for one dozen skrimps per peoples! :stuck_out_tongue:

Mud

I can bring bread, or anything else that I don’t have to cook. I don’t want to be responsible for killing anyone.

By the way, at last look time and place was still TBD. Have the TBDs been determined.

Yes it has…

Unfortunately, I am not savvy enough with websites to post the flyer… and I am a Computer professional! :face_with_head_bandage:

Friday night, around 6 P.M. at Hunting Island State Park Campground. (Not sure of the exact campsites, I believe 127 and 128, but just keep going left once you enter the campground, we will be to the left of the office, close to the entry road.)

http://www.huntingisland.com/PICmap2.htm

Just look for a group of people with kayaks on their vehicles and follow the smell of the Frogmore Stew!

Saturday’s fishing starts when the park opens at 0600 (Though sunlight isn’t until around 0630), and continues until 1700.

Sunday will be an informal day of fishing and comraderie… (You can take everyone to your secret western Beaufort County waters then P4R!) :stuck_out_tongue:

See you there…

might have a small problem with parking. How many are actually planning on showing for the frogmore?

Good question…Lots… Last count was close to 40 fishermen, most going to be there Friday night…

Any suggestions? Parking along Highway 21 and walking? Parking at the office and walking in?

About 15 are staying at the Primitive site near the Lagoon, and will likely carpool…
