That sounds like fun, but not sure that kayaking and fishing at the same time is the smartest thing for me to try. Never been in a kayak[:I]

Not to worry… Hunting island is perfect to learn, as the water in the lagoon is shallow, and little current. Kayaks are not that tippy as many think… Coe on, give it a try… You may never go back to piers!

…Alright the “gigs up”. As for the “Grand Prize”. I’ve been workin’ on it (ok, I’ve been buildin’ it). It looks like it will be done in time. It is a …
“New”, Wood and fiberglass, Flat bottom, Decked Paddlecraft. It’s called a RedStalker15. Built by “Paddlin’4Reds” . It has a total length of 15’3", and a max beam of 29", estimated max load capacity is #350. Cockpit is 84" long. Intended use: “…The RedFish 15 is designed for the Inshore hunting of RedFish. It is well suited for Tidal Creeks and Coastal Flats. It’s design lends itself to overnight RedFish Expeditions, with extra room for gear. The cockpit is large enough to sleep in. The Hunt is on”.
…hopefully to be unveiled at the “Meet & Greet”.
Estimated Value …with Lumber, Materials and Time: $… more then I care to disclose.

Paddlin4Reds, please add me to the list of fishermen. Been fishing for most of 63 years but I have just bought and rigged a kayak and started fishing from it. I live on Wadmalaw Island. Please let me know what I need to do to be officially entered. I’m a “definite-be-there” and am really looking forward to it. Thanks, Cecil Fry ( Old Ranger )…

…yea, shoot “Murray”, after Yak blew our plans away (only “Lagoon” area waters for the event, so much for “Beaufort Area…guessin’ it’s now “HIARF”… Hunting Island Area Redfish Floatilla) Guess it keeps everything on an even keel for out of towners. …but shoot, I made first place, not like I wanted to win it. I just wanted a 90+” aggregate “Slam”, (I might still try:smiley:), I’m game for “out of the 'goon”, probably Sharkayak too. Fripp Inlet has some nice sandbars on the surfside, might be some awesome Reds lurkin’ around, the marsh side has some nice tidal creeks too… Just bring a PFD, it can get REAL nasty, real fast around there.
…just came in from workin’ on the “prize” it is “sweet”… so far.

I agree, B.A.R.F, just make back to the campground by 5:00…if not, that’s a lot of pressure on such a small area
