offshore 4/13

Got my first shot at going offshore on Friday the 13th and left the dock in IOP at 6:30 with a buddy from NC and two great young men I was able to find on the match up service on this site. Headed out towards 226 and started trolling SE at 150 ft with a temp of 64.7 deg. At the 250+ ft. line the temp was up to 69.5 and found a weed line. Got our first slinger Phin in 10 minutes. As we were bringing it into the boat the left rigger went off with a 30+ lb. Bull on it. Got it within 8 ft. of the boat and he charged under the boat and broke off at the engines. Got 3 more slingers and 3 gaffers over the next couple of hours for a total of 7 in the boat and one huge one still swimming. Great first day out and I thank this site for hooking me up with Bobby (No Regrets) and his buddy, J.D. I also would like to thank Scott (All Rise) for helping a Newbie like me navigate this site and give some verbal insight on fishing offshore Charleston

Sounds like a good start. The folks on this site are as good as it gets I think.

couldn’t agree with you more and I hope to gain alot of new friends on this site with the passion for the Ocean that I have had for the past 60 years. Kudos to all and thanks for letting me be a part of it.
