Offshore 4/7 - Late Post

Ran south of the The Deli and The Sow Pen and found the temperature break in 220’. Hooked up a large fish at 7:30am that we lost after a 30 minute fight. Spit the hook on the third trip to the back of the boat with leader just coming out of the water. Never saw it.

Pushed deeper the rest of the morning with zero knockdowns. Great looking warm water with a little scattered weed and plenty of flyers but holding no fish.

Came back to the edge of the temperature break and worked it for 8 dolphin the rest of the day. 7 slingers and one 12 lb bull. Saw one sail free swim past the boat but it did not turn into the spread.

Give it two more weeks of this weather pattern and it will be on for sure.

Nice job,Will.Springtide forwarded your report to me last week and, needless to say,we are excited that a few green fish have shown up.I am with you that it will be 1-2weeks til it busts loose.I’ll give a shout whenever down below 226 Hole.Btw a boat from Toler’s came in with some slingers yesterday.
