Started out the morning at 3am to find out our two guests were going to be no shows so we headed on out just two of us. Hightailed it out the Folly river at 3:30am with about 1 ft of water under the props crossing the river and then out the Stono inlet to be met with a confused chop, pointed a bit further N to get a better ride and set the A/P and radar and settled back for a 2 hour bumpy ride. Started to lay down a bit more once off the ledge and ran out to about 1200ft to a nice looking temp break and some scattered weeds. Lines in and trolled, and trolled, and trolled till them ballyhoo couldn’t hold thier breath no longer and went on strike! Finally picked up 2 just as we were deciding to run back in a bit, picked up anyway and ran back in to about 350-400 where Miss Amanda and Really Blessed who we had been talking to were boating some nice fish. Found a nice rip with scattered weeds, flyers, and some boards and a big piece of line in it and prooceded to drop lines in and bam, bam, bam, multiple hookups start happening left and right, picked up about another 10 gaffers with a few slingers thrown in the mix on that one area. I really would like to know also tho, who put those rubber hooks in our tackle drawer!!! Lost about 6 really nice fish, some just went airborne and decided to spit hook, had something come and cut mainline above swivel while bringing a fish, lost favorite wahoo lure:(. Saw about a 12 ft shark cruising the surface, couldn’t ID it, looked long and skinny. Ocean glassed off and was flat calm all day, ran back in at 32, across the river bars and got boat hauled out, washed down, fish cleaned, bagged for freezing and into freezers, whew!
Yet another great day on the ocean that sustains all life on this planet.
Happiness is a blood splattered deck!

Bloodbath anyone?
