Offshore 6/3/2017

Beautiful day on the ocean. Ran out and picked up up a few mauis, cudas and released a sail between 300 and 700ft. We switched gears and decided to try something different. That ocean is a cool place.

Good eats! Nice haul

Nice haul! Were the golden ones reeled up by hand?

I think it was on here that I recieved the best advice. Reel them up 200ft and sit back, grab a coldsnack, put on some good tunes and wait a few minutes…

Nice work. Do you mind sharing what depth and bait were used to catch the tile?

I wouldn’t imagine seeing the battery box in the background of one of the pics…

Awesome fishing and congrats on the Tiles! Always wanted to catch a golden but haven’t tried it yet. Thanks for sharing

Very nice! Rough crew you hang out with.

We need to get up and talk fishing soon.

Beautiful fish. I used your sinker rig on a red snapper from 140 ft and it worked flawlessly. I knew you cared about conservation.

Sublime on the other thread is probably right. Im sure coming up from the depths does some damage. And ill be honest, when we first started deep dropping we floated some fish off and it made us sick to the point that we started researching online and I placed a couple of calls to a guy that fishes deep drop tournaments down off the Gulf Coast. He sent me the diagram of that homemade rig and talked about ways to specifically target what you want to catch and be disciplined to stop when you have what you need for the table. So far it has worked well. If I can be of any help to you guys give me a shout.

I don’t know if Sublime is right or wrong. There were studies done in California on deep water fish that were caught and placed in cages and sent back down and released at different intervals…with real time tags that showed good survivability…

Better than doing nothing.

Killed it again! Just awesome

Maybe I’ve just not caught enough…but those are monster Tiles right? Well played fellas!
