Offshore 7/2

Started the day leaving the marina with three in the boat, got to the harbor and my son started getting sick (bug spray truck fogged the marina as we were pulling in) so I called the wife to pick him up (that was fun) anyway, cleared the rocks @ 6:30 and made the run to just inside of 226, found a small weedline and worked it hard. Our rewards were:

9 dolphin (largest was 55.7lbs)
1 king
1 blackfin
2 for 3 on sails
2 cudas
-1 gaff

I will always have a spare gaff!

I saw that fish being cut…STUD! Nice to meet ya’ll yesterday.

yeh, he is a piece of work for sure! We each got sails on this trip (first for both of us) and they all ate at the same time (that was crazy but a blast) got 2 of the 3 to the boat. The boy was workin hard all day. Maybe I'll take him again someday, if he acts right.

Great job man! We had a slow day and didn’t even see a mahi . Hopefully I will be able to try again next week.

LeeMarie - Things I know - MC will always the first to step up if the anchor needs pulling, someone needs to go overboard to clear something from the runnig gear, to dive into the bilge for repair, etc. etc. Glad ya’ll had a great day. Did you lose the gaff before or after the stud Dolphin?

Lost the gaff early (hook fell right off the pole) while holding a cuda in the lower lip and had to use the arm gaff on the big one and the rest of the day. I have three gaff's now!

Nice day!
