Joined a satellite service. Got tired of the day late free crap. Looks good south for Sat… Three degree break w/cobalt blue moving in. If the 3 foot forecast holds I’m there. Anyone else?

Hilton’s Realtime navigation, $200/yr… Lots of good info. All the services (Terrafin,Roffs, etc.) pull from the same sat’s. When it’s cloudy none can see, so this one is no diff… For the money I thought this would give the best value. Sealed the deal when I looked @ one of the reports that had bad water move in and then out when the bait disappeared and returned last week. Hopefully, money well spent, not the end of the world if not. I’ll let you know on sunday.
Might go Sat. Hows it look around the SW banks?
Local Boy, Just having fun.
I’ll tell you for 200 bucks!
Just Kidding! Everything inshore of 100 fathoms looks the same as the last week. Only real diff. is on the edge, it is moving north and slight west though. Can’t see fish on the satellite, I’m not sure how much I have to pay for that.
I have been using hilton navigator for a year and a half and love it, i definately think it gives you an advantage getting immediate sat. info
Cortland,
Chris and I were talking about goint out saturday. Any idea how far your going.
John,
Lines in @ The Deli(75 miles) working south most likely. Will depend on where the good water goes between now and then. I’ve got 2 on the boat but we can buddy to some extent if you’d like. Tricky window, weather wise. 3’-5’ tonight and tomorrow then laying down, then turning onshore late Sat… Could call it last minute but if no wind, I don’t mind the swell. Call me tomorrow.

If you Live5 it as a teaser, it could qualify as a report -

“Did this local team of fisherman just set the new all tackle world record for blue marlin and yellowfins in one day??? Did a majestic sailfish survive a dramatic papparazi assault?
You might be surprised to find out… Tune in Sat evening…”
now it’s just a pre-report…

The trip to the Deli was busted about 5 miles off the beach when the 5-10 NW was 10-15 NNE. Pushed ahead to R-7, hoped the sun would lay things down, but we made bait @ the tower just in case it didn’t. It didn’t. The slop slowly turned to 3-4’ and NNE @15-20 KT… Not to nice. We did pound the beeliners and lost a grouper or 2. Highlight of the day was the 150# tiger that ate a vermillion off the bottom on the snapper banks. 80# mono leader and three strong runs from the boat and we still had to cut the line, must have been hooked just right. Always enjoy fishing with PJ and the short day may have been a blessing. Our “buddy” boat went to the Deli trolled for 30 minutes and came in. Four hour wet ride for them, I will go on record that they never should have gone. Inexperienced crew, borrowed boat, bottom machine half working and a twelve year old on the boat. Just stupid if you ask me. We had a decent ride in and back at the barn @ 2:30. The blue water will have to wait. Any one else do it to it?
Think how stupid the average person is, then realize that half the people are dumber than that.
HILTONS OFFSHORE is an excellent service!!! Their altimetry page is what the commercial guys use. There have been dozens of tournaments won with the info. Best of all, you can call them on the satellite phone and they’ll give you the daily update.
Tight Lines,
Dennis C.
it is nice to see that for some species the pics are normally taken in the water and not in the boat:wink:

Another Great Report! I see this place has gone to the crapper since I’ve been OOC. Tighten up!
Nothing but a “SMART-ELLIC”!
Nice picture Courtland. Sorry to hear that the day wasn’t as good as planned.
