After a busy summer of tournaments and charters I finally got the opportunity to fish deep outa MI yesterday on the Cattitude without a charter on board for the first time since May!Left at 5:30 had them in around 7:30 and started trolling south and offshore towards the GTH. Picked up a slinger on the troll and ran into rip with a bamboo tree on it in about 800ft. Spent the next 30 minutes conducting a dolphin massacre, we kept the limit and released 12 more to fight another day and then continued offshore. Saw 3 sails and a white one free jump out there but they weren’t interested. Came back inshore to do some deep dropping for snowys and caught 2 keeper scamps. All in all a great day on the ocean with great friends. Headedd back to Pirate’s Cove tomorrow to stay through the tournament hopefully the white bite will say consistent up there.
Nice report! Any pics?
A full 60 fish limit or was it fewer people on board? Either way, sounds like an exciting 30 minutes. Congrats!

It was a 50 fish limit with 5 people released 12 more and left them biting. Picts to come

What is that big red one in the middle? I know it’s not a red snapper and I have seen them diving in 100’+. Never knew what they were called or if they were worth shooting.

i wasn’t talking about the size of the peanuts, but rather the species. take a look at these photos. several of yours might be pompanos, particularly the fish on the bottom row, 3rd from the far left. hard to tell without a better photo.

What are the regs on big eye torro?
