Offshore Account 6/8

Headed out of Marlin Quay at 5:15 in the direction of the Scarp, nice ocean around 2 foot for the ride. Lines in at 7:45 and the first fish on around 20 minutes later. Planer rig and a grown up fish, initial run went on for what seemed like forever…unbuttoned after a few minutes into the fight.
next bite came on a short rigger, bit off. next, short flat, bit off.
dead for the next hour, then the yellow and blue fish showed. Picked at them for the next few hours, still hoping for a hoo. Wasnt meant to be.
Flyers in 60 feet and the rest of the way out. Most fish were between 140-180’. Colors didnt matter. zero weeds, temps 78’ish

12 gaffers(biggest pushing 30#)
2 slingers
1 high teen king
2 cuttoffs
1 fish lost

Nice work Sprig!!!
It was slow for us. We fish a nice weed line, temp break, with bait and birds, but no fish???

See you next week.

Capt Ben, bring an inshore set up. I sense a first light topwater bite in our future
