Looking for a quality anchor that will set quick and hold when bottom bumping in the deep. Not a reef anchor. Boat is 26’ CC with an anchor locker in the bow. I have 2 300’ sections of line and 10’ of chain, but my current Danforth (dull flukes) anchor is not getting it done. Thanks!
What size chain do you have? Regardless, you need more chain. I would at least double what you have. Even with a “good” anchor, 10 feet of chain is not going to keep the pull on the anchor parallel with the bottom.

The chain I have is 3/8", but I can get a longer length. I keep my boat in Columbia at the lake and I had 10’ from a previous anchor.

try a wreck anchor and about 25ft of chain, you wont have any more problems
25’ plus of chain 18-23# lb anchor. I used super hookers from boaters world on my 26’ boat. I used cheap anchors because I bent them often. I could just bend them back on the trailer.
Thanks for the input. I don’t mind spending the money for a Fortress/Guardian; I just want the thing to hook up in 100+ feet. Seems like I need 25+ feet of chain though. Hope it all fits in the anchor locker.

don’t waste your money on a Fortress. They are too light, and anchoring deep will cause the chain to sink quicker, creating a grand mess. They are a piece of $hiit.
I personally use a Danforth High Tensile, model 20H.28ft.galvanized chain. My 32’er does not move once anchor is set.Don’t worry about hauling in,use a poly-ball.
