offshore charters

hey guys,

i'm taking a buddy out on an offshore charter here in the next few weeks and i want to put him on some good sized fish. i wanted some input as far as which boat to go with. i've looked at several boats that seem like they would be good to go on. i'm looking for a 10-12 hr trip. i have a budget of about $1500. as of right now i have my eye on tee to sea. anyone have input on them.

I know the SC charters are expensive, but for years I’ve fished for Blue Marlin and Yellow Fin tuna in Kona on the Cherry Pit (Bobby Cherry) for $400 for the whole day. Save up United mileage point and get a free flight. Rooms are cheap and the experience of a lifetime. I’m looking to move the Charleston and need to learn inshore fishing. But paying $300-400 for 4 hours after Kona, does not sit well. Anyway, if you are up for Hawaii, look up Bobby, he is awesome and hook you up. We set the tuna record for the year with him with a 230 pounder that almost killed my buddy.

Grouper it has been good so far this year. It the slob have not showed up. This is 80 plus lbs Hoo’s. It all so can be hit and miss to due the weather and if the water temp have been push offhsore the break…

thanks for the input guys. i’d wait til april but my buddy is starting a series of training classes in april so, we have to get it done before the end of march. i was looking at heading out around myrtle beach but have gotten a few leads about some very reputable capt’s out of wilmington, nc. the blackfins and hoos are suppose to be thick up there right now around the gulf stream. i have to make a few more calls tomorrow though.
