offshore fishing Sat May 30

Headed offshore southeast Sat around 4:30 making good time. We were out about 30 miles when my port motor dropped down to 3500rpm. We worked on it for about an hour and determine that the fuel filter had blockage. We cleaned it out and started back out about 5 miles later it clogged up again. I was determined to get to the fishing grounds so I locked down the throttle and kept going out. We started out on the weed line in 137ft but had no action and did not see any other boats hooked up. We pulled up and headed east. At the 200ft line we picked up a dolphin and had one follow the fish to the boat. We proceeded outward and found a weed line between 250 and 300ft. We boated another 2 dolphin. We had about 4 fish that we missed, we made a few mistakes. Overall we had a good day except for the port motor. We headed back to port with 1 and a half motors. When we hit the jetties the port motor cleared itself.
Thanks to Tommy, BG, Robert, and big John.

Glad to hear that you were able to get some fish in the boat. Hope the engine is an easy fix for ya.

Mr. King, Kind of neet freegaffing that fish then putting a hook in it to pose for the picture. And remember it’s ok to carry tools to work on the boat just don’t try it on the airplane! THANKS Gregg for another adventure @ sea, fishing is always an option, were trying out a new recipe for the grill. Have fun in the Keys. BG, John, good being out to sea with you. Robert
