offshore friday 4/18

Fished a friend’s 32 Albemarle express for the first time today. We fished offshore of the edisto banks in some 70-72 degree water b/w 300 and 700 feet. Scatterred weeds, a few pieces of lumber, tons of fliers. We caught 4 dolphin, a wahoo, and a stud bonita. All fish were caught b/w 500-600 feet. We worked up to the 226 hole and found the fleet there with very little action. Lots of other boats out there and not much chatter on the radio. Word back at Ripley light was that some got skunked. Good luck to all who go this weekend.

Had to go beyondd 226 and get on the weed line out there…Plenty of dolphin and life on it, but water was only 73 and an occasional 74 thrown in.

what exactly is a “stud bonita”?

I saw that bonita and it was indeed a stud.

A stud bonita is one that makes a lot of bait…

We should keep all of our bonita from now on and sell it to the pier fisherman. They’d be all over it; I can promise you that.

I’m back and I’ve promised to behave this time.
